Frequently Asked Questions
Before you ask, we've answered.
Q01Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be between 21 and 50 years of age, be United States citizens, and fall under one of the eligible entity classifications published in Section 1 of the announcement. Eligibility is verified in Step 1 of Form USRAV-1040 before you spend time on the rest of the form.
Q02How much can I request?
Each of the six program areas has a published award range — for example, Education & Workforce Training runs from $2,500 to $50,000, while Technology & Research runs from $10,000 to $150,000. In Step 3 you can pick a suggested amount or enter a custom amount anywhere inside the range.
Q03Is there a fee to apply?
Never. Applying is free, and no part of the process requires payment, a purchase, or banking details of any kind.
Q04What information will I need?
Your legal name, date of birth, email, country and state/province of residence, your entity classification, and the program and amount you are requesting. This portal never asks for your Social Security number, bank account, or card details.
Q05How long does review take?
The median review time is 21 days from submission. Applications are reviewed in the order received, and every submission receives a confirmation number immediately.
Q06How will I hear back?
By email only. We will send forward a confirmation email if we need any more information. We never call to demand payment.
Q07Can I change my application after submitting?
Yes. Contact the Program Office with your confirmation number (USRAV-2026-XXXXXX) and the details you need amended before the September 30 deadline.
